    I Am Childlike

Often people tell me that I am "child like."
At first I wasn't so sure how to take that. But the more I thought about it, the more I came to understand, that it was the greatest compliment anyone could give me.
Children are pure, sweet and innocent. They haven't been corrupted by prejudices and injustices of our society. They trust others and don't judge to quickly. They enjoy the simplest pleasures that each day has to offer them, they welcome new challenges and adventures and are constantly thirsting for knowledge.  They feel safe, protected and loved. Their laughter isn't forced or false, their affection is genuine. They find not only joy but pleasure in their daily activities.
Somehow, as we grow older, we tend to lose that perception. Greed takes hold of us and material objects become so important. Stress and pressures consume our daily routine and the simple pleasures that we once enjoyed, get pushed onto the back burner. The child in us is lost as we continue our journey of life. How sad is that?
While I do acknowledge the responsibilites of adulthood, I still refuse to let go of that innner child in my  heart. In spite of the pain and injustices I've endured during the course of my life.... I still believe that there is good in everyone. I still trust other's, even if it means that they may sometimes let me down or disappoint me. I feel compassion and love sometimes for strangers I don't even know.I try to see both sides of the picture and not judge other's to quickly.
I tend to look at the world through the eyes of a child, because it looks so much more beautiful and hopeful that way.
So if that means I am "child like" then I pray that I never frow up. I don't ever want to lose that innocence of childhood, for it truly is a wonderful place to dwell, and it definitely makes life a  more enjoyable journey.
I will continue to laugh at myself, run through the rain puddles, make angels in the snow and reach out a welcome hand to others.  There is no greater gift in life than beng able to touch someone's heart, make them laugh or make them feel loved.
Children have the power to do this, it comes naturally , so I'm holding onto the inner child in me as long as I can!

this is okay but try to economise word inorder not to be bord when reading.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
