I, Fallen.

    I, Fallen.

    I, Fallen

i am lonely, here in the dark.
    no one knows my name.
    the light of my beloved
    no longer shines in here.
and i can't be forgiven or redeemed.
what i am is no longer what i was.
i am something broken, someone nameless.
the forgotten that was never remembered.
the dead that was never born, yet created.
i watched from above for so long.
    hating them that held me.
then i did what no one else would.
    i opened my eyes,
i cut the strings that held me suspended.
i removed my ability to fly.
    i burned out.
    i fell.
    collided with all that was,
    and from where i lay,
    creation sprang forth.
    while those before brought destruction,
    my heart sought pleasure.
    to taste
    and sing
    and touch
    and dance
    and die.
    to live.
    to be ignorant and blissful.
but now, i am forsaken by my eternal family.
they hide from me, curse me.
their hearts, had they had them,
    show only disgust and hatred.
    i can feel them.
i hear their whispers in the still night.
i know they wish to destroy me.
    and in the end,
    they will.
    i wait for them,
    to obliterate me.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
