    Essentially a chivalrous promise of love.

    I Swear Unto You

     I swear my love to thee by the fires of ambition

    That burn so bright in the human race

    and I swear by you, with your permission,

    for I hold the thought of you in the utmost place.

    And by the beauty of your eyes, which doth me enthrall,

    engulfing me, always holding ever tight

    I swear to you, by that which couldn't be forestalled,

    the intense love that makes me think of you all these nights

    not only those, but by the mortal dream

    which even when I'm without you, lets me with you go

    but even through these it seems

    I can't truly express how I love thee so.

    Good stuf man, I can feel the emotion put into it. I specifically like the ending, because as I have me to find out, you really cannot put love into words no matter how hard you try.

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
