    • I'm currently turning my poems into songs. A little re-writing here and there. Would be grateful to find someone who can write music. If anyone knows someone who can write music or who can sing, send them my way.

    Identity

    Why are you trying
    To change me
    Do you not like
    The person that you see

    I like who I am
    Is that so bad
    You're tying to change me
    And that makes me mad

    I'm not a mean person
Please don't make me that way
But sometimes it burns me up inside
    The things that you say

    But that's okay
    I'll fight for me
    Because I like
    My identity

I so can relate to this, it brought a smile to my face as I finished reading it, good for you standing up for you, I think I like your identity too!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
