    In Love With You

    My foolish heart persists.
True love I’m sure is not this.
Like a sharp knife to the eye.
No blood to bleed from this lie.
    Without any doubts of deception.
I gave my heart with blurred perception.

The relentless bottle soothes his mind.
With dreams of true love all left behind.
His inner child once failed soul.
Now painful lamenting memories paying toll.
He cries for you, himself and me.
The bottle’s his world and he wants to be free.

    Foolish heart befriend my desire.
Show me a truer love to inspire.
Give me sight to see unspoken flaws.
Allow this heart to beat without a pause.
Love show me a sweeter scent to know.
Like a new days sunshine to make me grow.

My love stands shy to the side of this man.
I gave you friendship and support do understand.
Your tender soul as tattered as it may be.
You will not find love until you are free.
You once held this delicate heart so true.
My love once was endless in love with you.
