    incognito

    am I who I think I am
or defined by all I feel
    everyone has a mask
so none of it is real

    and the walls we build
    to protect ourselves
    are castles in the sand

    doomed to fall
    before love's call
    our foolish hearts surrender

and that which we hold precious
    is despoiled by design
    I will hate
    my twisted fate
though it's all that's truly mine

and hide all of my precious parts
    in disguise of mass deception
    this game we play
    I have to say
    is due to flawed perception

An all too real human write to say the least. We all definitely have our own personal masks we hide behind when situations dictate... and when they don't dictate... depending on how we feel.

I find it a sad, lonely way to live....don't we all end up...empty?

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
