It was Him

It was Him

When you left, a huge hole was put in my heart
I went to a dark place
There were no more smiles
No more laughs
No feelings of any kind
I went on autopilot
Wake up, school, work, sleep
Everyday, it was the same
Until one day
A light broke through the dark
It was him
I knew him
No, I loved him
Day by day, he pulled me out
Day by day, my love grew
My smile returned
As well as my laugh
He reminds me of you
And I love him very much

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
