Just a thought

While thinking of what my father taught his son
Staying focused on my battle and preparing to win
While admiring the beautiful day I won
All over the country I have been

So easy to drift off like a slow moving stream
Sometimes life is easy but also hard
Alive and awake or asleep in a dream
Always afraid to let down my guard

Be ready and prepared for this day
For It will come on this you can bet
Becareful of what you do and say
Not letting life pass you by as where you set

For my age I have seen a lot
Raised in the oilfield since a young child
Running hard and wild never getting caught
In an oilfield town anything but mild

Staying focused is sometimes hard to do
Maybe with practice I will get better
Meanwhile searching for that special clue
Learning to do it down to the last letter
