Poem Commentary

This was at a time in my life that I wished I could do over, but it happen just the same. Been clean now for 8 yrs on the 22nd of August, but only by the Grace of God.

Running From the Ghost

Funny sometimes scary the things I did
Acting as if life were a runaway train
Before I knew it no alonger a kid
Running from the ghost that come from the rain

Living life getting high each day and night
Fun at first but quickly getting old
Hiding things inside like your tears that bite
Running from the ghost that come from the cold

Sitting in the sun while watching the moon in the dark
Just a shadow of myself once wanting to try
Awake for days at a time watching the cats bark
Running from the ghost that come when you cry

As the little white grains eat at your bone
Wanting to stop while still partly sane
With a head full of webs covered with stone
Running from the ghost that comes with the pain

Got it togather then fogot where I put it
Tripping before I fell just one more time
On the right train this time I sit
Running from the ghost with a bag for a dime !

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
