    letters to heaven: mom

hey, remember that time i got arrested

and in the middle of the night i came to you crying

i whisperd in your ear to "be my mother"

    you simply smiled and nodded

or how bout the time i ran away

and you yelled at the cop who came to take me back

i hid in the back room and laughed when you said

theres no one here by the name of "Dianne"

i remeber when we just sat on the couch

and you told me all of your stories

or the time she and i snuck out

and you caught us at 7 o'clock in the morning

i remember all the stunts you pulled

    when you got caught shoplifting

you gave me the name loretta purple

and then you told me about destiny

     we werent related by blood

but i had you and nothing eles

im sorry i lied, im sorry i ran

forgive me mom i still love you

i miss you i promise i'll keep everyone safe

    please come visit soon

all i want is to see your face
one more time in the sun of the afternoon

I can appreciate this, God bless ya, and welcome to OP...

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
