Life's Choices.

Poem Commentary

Do I look at life only through the "temporal", or do I take a "birds eye" view, of the importance of my final exit

Life's Choices.

If life is a test, and I am the student,
will I waste my time, or will I be prudent?

Will brittle and hard, be the look on my face,
and my innermost core, be void of God's grace?

Or will I be walking, the road that's "less traveled",
with a Godly response, when my life comes unraveled,

And will I be honest, to see where I've caused,
some of the tests,  and blessings I've lost.

Will I turn to the Lord, as He softens my heart,
to grow and mature, when He gives a new start.

God, take all my slights, imagined or real,
they're yours,   so that  You can cause me to heal.

So break my selfwill, as each day I confess,
and love you with thanks, when you clean up each mess.

Then when I've completed, my very last test,
and transported to Heaven,to experience your BEST,

Will that Heavenly scene, prove you honor requests,
when you usher us in, and treat us like guests.

If poetry's sung, in Heaven, I then,
will pick up my pen, and write once again.

Thank you for your kind words.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
