    look for the light

Once I was me, but now I'm gone.
Finding that 'thing' to push me on.

Sail me thru this world of fire.
Stoke my fate, or build my pyre.

Show me light, or switch me off,
    No shadow, no doubt,

    No shade, no sorrow.
    Just the light of tomorrow.
    ...the lumination of life.

    Don't want a dimmer,
    don't want a switch,
just the everafter glow of happiness.

    Can't you see
    I'm dying, man.
    Drowning at sea.
    Just fading
    fading
    fading away.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
