Love

Love
Love, a blessing or a curse?
First, I'm on top of the world,
a happier girl you could not find.
Then, I'm curled up in a ball,
gone completely out of my mind.

Imagination is a lovely gift
when it comes to matters of the heart,
but when it shifts into overdrive...
my world just falls apart.

Now I'm longing for something to smile about,
something from him to bring me around.
I know that when that day arrives...
a happier girl just won't be found.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
