Poem Commentary

This goes to a piano song i wrote.

Memory

I remember the first time i saw you

do you remember it like i do?

cold sweat and hesitation

i don't know how to take this

you were meant for me

(chorus)

The memory of you is so strong

I can't believe you're gone

Hold me one last time

I would die for it

I just want to look into your eyes

One more time

and feel whole again

The days were all so better with you around

You could never bring me down

Your love was so true

it was always just me and you

And that's all we ever needed

(chorus)

Time moves by so face

The memories make it last

Those good feelings I had

The way you made me feel

Why did you have to go?

There's no evidence to show

That it was your time

I'm left here broken

A part of me was stolen

Those final hours

Give them back

I'd sell my soul for you

You didn't deserve to leave us

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
