Poem Commentary

Song lyrics ( It wouldn't let me submit, so I'm trying to type something in here )

Misconception

The flood gates are open now,

Exposing my soul, revealing how I feel,

Will you please just give me some sort of sign,

Please tell me that this is real

I see the look in your eyes,

I can feel the tension is growing stronger,

Growing colder, spilling over,

I don't think it will be contained much longer

Maybe that piercing look isn't what I thought it was

Every single person I ever try to get close to,

Every time I think I'm doing something right,

It gets pushed in my face, a pitiful disgrace,

What I offer is never good enough for you

How quickly this moment changed,

From a happy time to an ugly lie,

Will you please just give me some sort of sign,

A reason for you to try,

But there's no reason left in you,

Only ugliness,

Forgive me for ever speaking the truth,

I'm stuck with hopelessness

Maybe that piercing look isn't what I thought it was

Every single person I ever try to get close to,

Every time I think I'm doing something right,

It gets pushed in my face, a pitiful disgrace,

What I offer is never good enough for you

How could I let this happen

A stupid misconception,

Of how this life could be,

so wonderful for me,

And you just stare,

But not one that cares,

It's cold inside,

The feeling's died

That piercing look isn't what I thought it was

Good for a song. Sorry about the breakup. Most poems dont have a refrain. But where else are you gonna work it out. I wouldput it to guitar.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
