Mercy

Mercy

Her exploits captures the imagery of my mind
My hindsight paints the picture I long to erase
Confronted by judgment yet she got my behind
The trail of glory she urges endlessly to blaze
No one would have considered a second chance
She fought tooth and nail to bring me grace
Like a courageous knight with a mighty lance
Verdict of the enemy could not match her pace
Then I pondered she must be from a royal lineage
Maidservant from an ancient royal line, she exclaimed
Which could only be traced to the ancient of days
Her victory set the pace for grace that I now maintain.
