Trip to Prideland

Arrogance I gathered was the mayor
Measuring people up like a tailor
Domination was his favorite assault
Arrayed with staggering gallantry
Ruling and suppressing humility
With Honesty being thrown in jail
None could bear the enduring pain
Inflicted by the cunning sly
Using his blazing sword; lies
Tucked in the sheath of deception
If only Honesty were not locked in
With truth as his weapon of mass destruction
Arrogance would now languish in the dungeon
As Pride-land would now be in oblivion.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
