The Anointing

The Anointing

Right in the midst of a joyous church praise
The thoughts in my head began to set sail
Stilling all the noise around to a mere whisper
As I drifted away in a subconscious whimper
The ambience of the place suddenly changed
There was a presence and I felt more estranged
First time ever I was face to face with silence
The experience brought so much suspense
Like hot knife through butter, a voice pierced
I heard the rumblings of thunder in my head
Be not afraid, I AM with you always, it echoed
I trembled intermittently, as it felt very cold
The window of my body parted only slightly
I could see flush of white shinning brightly
A while longer I snapped back to reality
I realized I had journeyed towards eternity.

Well done. I enjoyed reading this work. Keep at it! The depth of your wording has lent a sort of strength that shows your faith cannot be undermined.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
