Missing You

Missing You

In the morning as I wake

    It begins anew missing you

I reach for my first cup

    There’s no first morning kiss

Missing you

The prep to head for work

Is quiet in the dawn

    I don’t see you stretching

Missing you

The drive and all the rage

Does little to distract

The fact I left no one behind

Missing you

    Another day another dime

Sign of the time no one to laugh with

    Missing you

When day is done and the sun sets

It’s lonely as the shadows grow

Because I know

    When tomorrow comes anew

I’ll still be

                Missing you.
