When in Darkness

When in Darkness

When in darkness I can see

          This is when I know

You have not forgotten me

          Tenderly You’ve touched my soul

I have followed many roads

          Tripped down many paths

Often wondering where destiny lay

Lost oh so lost was I

Thought I knew where I was

Yes, I knew where I was going

But I didn’t know how lost I was

‘til in the darkness I saw

When in darkness I can see

          This is when I know

You have not forgotten me

          Tenderly You’ve lifted my soul

When in the brightest of the day

          I stumble and I trip

The sun shines bright

          Lighting my way

The darkness still surrounds me

You are my light

          In darkest night

In daylight when troubles

          Surround me

All my life was darkest night

          Then You reached out

And found me

And then in darkness I could see

          For now I surely know

You had not forgotten me

          You always had my soul

Hold me close and

          Comfort me

You always had my soul
