    My Biggest Sacrifice

I can remember just about all the times that I snuck out of the house, or from work
    To come and see you
I remember us going to the movies on the low
Afraid one of my mom’s friends would see us
I remember going to your church with out you on the revival night
    Cause you wasn’t feelin it
It was also in church that you were to careless to move out of your comfort zone
    To sit with me
I remember Easter dinner with all your family, with me and my little brother
I remember taking your brother to Wal-Mart for Gatorade and got caught
    By my sister’s sister
After the call, I quickly made up a lie to my mother
I remember the nights when we’d fool around in my car
Then race down the highway to get home on time
There’s so much more that I did and do
And I can’t even get full commitment
    From you
I can’t get respect and a nice tone of voice
    A trust system, or courteousness
    I’m broken-hearted and in disbelief
This poem was made with tears, love and honesty
I can’t change but so much of who I am
So I definitely can’t change you
Unfortunately, It ain’t meant for us
You’re doing this thing to me again
    Making me regret my decisions
I’m just wishing it would have worked out
All this extra love here in my heart
    And for who?
    For you?
    Hardly, please
I bet right about now you wouldn’t say bless you if I sneezed
    I’m crying out of misery
For all the signs I failed to see
You took another part of me
When can I really be free
    From you?
