Our Fairy-tale Withdrawn:

Poem Commentary

What is lost in technological advancements makes some of us yearn to once again connect to something beyond mortality. When all of humanity lived each day utterly enchanted by natural lore and fairy tale; long before it was sealed away or used as a device to instruct social and political obedience.Woe to those who possess the sheer audacity to blaspheme against the very gods they attempt to create in their own image.

Our Fairy-tale Withdrawn:

When once upon a willow the great owl wept
Sense sustain a master’s voice within and suspect
Chattered critters from canopy to floor it crept
Gushing, growling twilight’s gale might defect

Rambling and rustling gathered every manner of beast
Enter earthen realm from north, south, west, and east
Only oddly now gather brush for fire, food, and feast
Limit light might it slight if lessons owned now ceased

Dry, devout her sovereign tears and dare her to emote
Rather rich, redesigned or bewitched must read her note
“From far across fantastic realms and feathered my coat
There a time we could entwine without care we would float

Now nearly captive naively withdrawn our space returning naught
Would we see such majesty were our sights overlooked and locked
Maybe merry might be many if instead through time we carried the lot
Enchanting evasive our entrance detaining all those paths would be blocked”

Toasts teetered a clamor in the treetops amidst tears and salutation
Spoken sudden in unison began a chore for a final summer simulation
Into indulgent stories insidious devices of social, merit-less communication
Agreed ageless fairy-tales aimed to augment and anchor mankind’s renovation.
