    Pain

Like a Stone cast from Heaven
Like a Warrior wounded and fighting
Like a Poison arrow in flight

No more than I can handle
    You said

Landing on a mountain becomes a boulder
    Losing he is pushed back
Closing on its target it strikes

    Help me Father
    You said you would

    Boulder breaks leg
    Swordless on verge of death
    Spreads through body wreaking havoc

I am not worthy of Your help
    This do I deserve

    Father can you forgive me
For Mortal Man, I, can not
Thus do I repent of my atrocities

    Oh, how unworthy I am
For you endured much more for my sake

    Semper Deo Et Christo Gloria!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
