    Poem Commentary

    A poem written In honor of a long ago friend whom lost his soul mate one tragic evening from a drunk driver

    part 1 ( I miss you)

     Sleepless nights I lay awake and stare at your picture-
    Your beautiful emerald green eyes dance with happiness as if it were only yesterday-
    I watch our daughter sleep peacefuly next to me-
    Wishing you could be here next to her-
    Trying to live on-

    I know you would want me to be strong-
    I can't find the strenght-
    Audrey reminds me of you, her actions and yours alike-
    Sadness eats away at my every awaking  hour-
    Sleep never sets in-
    Only the reality of loosing you haunts me over and over again-

    In my dream I watch you-
    Your on your way home-
    One more hour till our party-
    Tragically you never make it to our party-
    You were taken from us-

    Prison the driver now sits but next year on this very day he will be free-
    Though he has taken a life, Your life-
    Drunken he took from us in an instant-
    Our future, your breath, -
    Why can I not let go-
    How shall I ever love again-
    I miss you-
    I love you-
    I love you now and I will love you always

    this one here is sad and full of emotion. It's a sad part of life when these things happen...and the idiot who gets drunk and behind the wheel...often walks away and keeps on living...but in the end...there are no mistakes...and we just have to try our best to move on. A tall measure...but a necessary one. :)
