Pirate

Sailing the vast ocean of life I hunt for treasure not just any treasure either

I have found several and got small amounts but nothing compared to the treasure I seek

This pirate’s life is not always fun and exciting filled with loads of pain

Now I have found my ultimate treasure in you my dear

Heart of gold, eyes like diamonds, ruby colored cheeks, and hair like the finest silks

The treasure is not the easiest to take and make mine but I refuse to give up

I will sail forever in the hunt and eventually find victory upon the waves of life

This treasure is not to be hidden either but shared with a world as the rare beauty

I prefer a living treasure over any old chest buried in the sand

So keep your riches and islands I will sail for ever with you hand in hand.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
