Poem Commentary

This was born around March 2008 in Dale City , VA..  It's a story of a woman who loses everything to her drug addiction..  These lyrics are basically her memoirs to her estranged lover..

"Carolina Must Have Her Zoloft"

"Carolina Must Have Her Zoloft"

Verse 1:
Today would be a great day -
For discovering you again-
The headaches and the heartaches-
Are becoming my two best friends-
I know that there’s a thin but fine line-
Between this place and hell-
I’m sorry to say but at the end of the story-
I’ll be using the drugs again-
Abusing the drugs again-
I remember when.. You said
They’ll be using me in the end.

Chorus :
I’ll show you
that I wanna hold you-
I told you-
How much I wanna hold you..

Verse 2:
The balance of an oiled see-saw-
Is fucking me to death-
Shooting up only shoots me down-
I think that’s safe to say-
There almost has never been a time-
That I have not felt this way-
So I’m just writing to let you know-
That I’m giving up the meds-
P.S. - I wont give up on us
I cant give up on us
So please dont give up on me..

This person is so honestly brutal. I almost wish I could meet her. Job well done. I really enjoyed this.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
