Rekindled lives

    Rekindled lives

Deep beneath soft bed covers your body lies bare
Your dreams dare flit to and fro above your head
Nothing said, just known, grown from one’s heart
Though now apart, we’re together, in love’s spirit

We hear it, our mind’s medley of thoughtful song
That we belong in each others arms eternally one
Having begun a journey, a path to no place certain
Raising a curtain on life’s new act to be played out

Without doubt we forge ahead, comfort in each other
With another day slowly unfolding before us we pray
Our short stay on this planet will be together in peace
Will never cease, hand in hand, our hearts intertwined

Fates been kind bringing these two paths back together
And whoever questions our rapt knows not about love
Or of morning’s dove, carrying affection on swift wings
Bringing bliss and solace into our very blessed lives

Another very well written poem. People will start to notice soon. Good job. TS

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
