    Reprieve

    Reprieve

    The spirit was not quelled

The mind's eye shined like Polaris

    The physical was supple

    And then

    The glares and stares subtly

    Turned into callous indifference

As the ascent became the descent

    Mercurial thoughts flood my brain

    Filling me with fear

    Peace alternates with panic

Like a seesaw balancing on the shimmering thread of life

With care I prepare to dare to submit

To the bleak blackness of eternity

But once again before I touch the depths of darkness

I soar to the heavens like a golden swan

To my castle in the sun

On reprieve I wait for my final plunge

I think you have alot of great description here but I think the core message is somewhat lost. I liked the flow and the spelling was great but the core message was somewhat hazy

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
