second chance

The silence hangs like a damp fog in the quiet misty air,
I long to hear your voice, soothing, reassuring, deeply caressing me, but I wonder, do you even care?
Now our friendship is strained, unfamiliar, how and where do
we go from here?
I feel used, betrayed, taken advantage of, as I hastily wipe
away a tear.
We had such a friendship with promise so completely lovely and rare,
Now it is just a heap of ashes smoldering, dying not even a
glimpse of a flare.
I long for comfort, release from this rejection, a reality too well known,
And yet being sadly familiar, this rejection has found a
comfortable place in the dark recesses of my home.
But somehow even in the deadness of winter there breathes
a hope of life again stunningly new,
there lies beneath the muggy obscure death a glorious
resurrected..... us two......................

This is an awesomely written poem. The beggining and point of poem are vivid. However, the end, I got lost, what did I miss ? . Thanks for sharing.
