    Your Presence Lingers

Your presence lingers as you walk away, bye for now, I will see you
    another day.
I stand confused feeling somewhat betrayed, I am angry at myself,
how could I let this happen?
Such a high price to be paid.
Not to hear you laugh, or you watch me giggle, or see you smile,
You say you need time to heal, I understand but will it take
    a long while?
I guess the saddest thing of all is your inspiration to me must
    come to an end,
When all I ever wanted to do was grow and flourish
and love you as my friend.

You’ve put your feelings nicely in a poem…letting go of someone you love is always difficult, my favorite is the last line;)

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
