  • Hey guys! I recently published a poetry chapbook in memory of my mammaw. It's available on amazon.com and createspace e store. It's titled If I Settle Down... by Charles Cross.

Society is a Whore

Society is a whore based on pillow talk propaganda
where do we go when we're drunk and horny
Why, to society of course
social flings killin the essence of things
I met a girl on the campus
her physical radiance made me withdrawal
a certain amount of rigorous interior of
which I carried, made me turn to the end of all
My hair was too long
  in my eyes, ya know?
And she fell away
into the feel good lab of rats
Rodents that carry diseases, ya know?
But all I could bare was memories of her
She tore me apart, like all the girls do
"Oh, I'm not like most girls."
What are you then, a commercial played every five seconds
  Goddammit
Where has Heaven and Hell gone in our trepidation
  I think its love
but I was raised from isolation
  fires in my psychological being
Darkness is prudent for some stange reason
I can't discern the factors of our rage
I always said that I was something of the void
and illusions that live in the Willow Library's fadism
Give me a drink you bastards!
  Until I puke!
She's fucked me in the shelter cabin
so there's nothin to worry bout
Society is a whore
and STD's come in hoof cubicles
with cars, emotions, and trauma hazards
  Burn
Croak the dark revise
  that renders all inharmonic

WOW! I like your anger and frustration mixed in with a little bit of dark humor! I also love how you don't hold back. Damn those lab rats.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
