Soul of Emotions

Soul of Emotions

It spinds unchecked around and round,
one single emotion called anger unbound.
Adults should have control they say,
let cooler minds rue a new day.
Time well spent, I still believe,
emotions feed the soul, it breeds.
Cool reason, sound logic, becomes the key,
though lightning strikes, I am still me.
To this world born is many kinds,
some strange fools claim they rule their minds.
Yet the fantasy of control just stems
from lives unleashed, trapped all within.
So please grab your rod, the staff of life.
Let anger ring true, forget this tripe.
For souls sing loud, their need expressed,
And great anger that's leashed,
destroys the best.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
