    Struggle

Guilt and shame over the emptiness I feel

Not wanting to share with loved ones

    Always feeling like an outsider

But still I try my best to push on

Some days I’m fine, some days I cry

    Usually, I’m somewhere between

A gray area that can’t be explained

Falling deeper, but never hitting the bottom

    The weather outside matches me

Stormy and gray, pouring rain, maybe it’s sympathy

My internalized feelings are ready to spill, too

The tears are reaching a critical mass

Threatening to spill if one more thought crosses my mind

This is the struggle I regularly face
