    The Beginner

     All that is, you made to be
    from misty dreams, to thoughts, to reality
    your potent yet latent might none can see
    you are born from lips of virgin purity

    You are truly the philosophers stone
    the magic of the Magi from the East
    the elixir of life left hardening into bone
    a light bringer shrouded in mist

    You are Abraham's corner of peace
    our Excalibur, the sword for holy wars
    a pleasing lovers fruit of eternal bliss
    an imprisoned Genie behind ivory walls

    You are all these yet you are nothing
    a dying dew born by an angels breath
    Brutus dagger stabbing slow and hurting
    an angel of noisy life and quiet death

    You are the breath that gives life
    a priceless gift of Christ lost to human strife
