The Crossing

The Crossing

I peer through the mist
To a horizon out of reach
And long for an island
With a sandy white beach
I’ve been on this ocean
For many long years
With its currents and its swells
And so many tears
But just when I think
A coast should appear
The witch rears her head
Adrift again so I fear
Please give me a harbor
That protects me from strife
And mellows these seas
From the crossing we call life

You have got your ink in order and these words are all in perfect alignment for some really good prose. BRAVO!!!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
