The Inevitable

The Inevitable

So many thoughts race through my mind;

Words, phrases, feelings, thoughts. Which should I write?????

Would I do justice to the heat within me?

Would my flow be garbled, lost in time?

Weathered severely by years of inactivity.

Or perhaps, I should regurgitate;

Get the garbage out and leave room for the beauty within:

The experience is new suffocating and overwhelming

And yet releasing, freeing, liberating, exhilarating.

Should I run and hide from it ….NO

That’s the old me pretend, lie, and mask.

So I stand in front of it fearlessly.

Willing to be crushed, pounded, obliterated, ground

Vulnerability is mine, and I own it.

So I succumb and yield myself to the inevitable.

Must say, I've been there and back, been there and back. Love how you said it and the poetry is good also.

we must all be willing to put it all on the line for love and life or else we are clones

I will help in anyway I can....

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
