THE LEGACY OF BLACK HISTORY

THE LEGACY OF BLACK HISTORY

Black History began with the dawning of time
Where there were Kings, Queens and Prophets untold
A nation of people born to serve the Almighty God
But through slavery we were sold
By prayer and determination we emerged from bondage
Because the freedom of one's spirit, no man can ever hold
Our ancestors fought valiantly and also sacrificed
They even marched and rallied in the cold
So our next generation of Princes and Princesses,
Could don a heritage more valuable than gold
Injusticies still arise from time to time
The maintained ignorance of what is now old
Still powerful in character plus highly intelligent
We are more than conquerers from the mold
We diligently display our capacity and worth
As the new chapters continue to unfold
This year for Black History, contribute to the Legacy
Be Black, Be Beautiful, Be Buoyant, Be Bold!
