    the lessons of iktomi

    playfully watching iktomi
     trickster of delight you see,
moving here or there always moving free,
     lost and found over again
    mocking-pondering making false friend,
for iktomi the cunning not iktomi the wise
always befriending with a sinister surprise,
for if he is to ever cross your path
                   I beseech you please beware,
he is a great teacher without a care,
     life lessons will unfold
    yet truth may go untold,
we all know iktomi as friend or foe
always a teacher to keep us apon our toe
     entangled to the divine
    all lessons learned in time,
his lessons may not be sweet or grand
yet all are lessons to learn and understand,
               iktomi-iktomi-iktomi......

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
