    The Longing

The rain beats softly caressing my inner soul
I have secrets yet revealed longings to be told
The sky is dark but inside my heart the sun shines
My thoughts of you turn my mind to happier times
Times of dancing in the rain and your lips soft on mine
I can still feel your hands brush the hair from my face
You whisper your eyes take my soul to another place
I keep your memory alive here in my heart
The taste the touch smell the spark.
Could it be I held you in another life
and there's no one that can pass the test
Could it be my soul searches unwilling to let go
Until it finds you to rest

Wow this left me speechless for the moment and I had to read once more. The emotions you display are ingrained in the reader to the end. You have lost a love. No one can pass the test to replace or even fill again. You are still very much connected. I am sure your love was very special and so is this write! Hugz

thank you, I will go read some of yours

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
