I am so much more than what you see
yet the world wants to judge & label me
I am more than a pretty face-I am more than
just another gay man
I want you all to understand
I am a soldier-I am a lover- I am more than you
could ever know
I am a rising phoenix- feel my fire-become entangled
in my glow
I am more than just another black man trying
to make ends meet
I am a champion who will never admit defeat
Don't be fooled by my exterior- my looks- my clever
wit
I'm a Spartan stomping through all this shit
I am more than ordinary-I am resilient- I am that
undying force
I'm that kindred spirit ready to carry the torch
I am real-what you see is what you get
I'm someone you will never forget
