    Today

I felt you leave today. I know you are somewhere where you have no pain.
I hope you know how much you have meant to me, as I have loved you for so long.
I know you could not stay, I know you tried. I will always cherish the touch of your lips on mine and
the warmth of you hugs, our silly jokes, or just being together and doing nothing.
I know life goes on, but why should you not be here.
I know you would much rather be there.
I love you, my sweet mother, my friend, my girlfriend, my sister, my all.
I will try to keep the faith and do what is right but it is hard, so hard, to always do what is right when your mind and heart is crumbled like an old shoe, that has gone too many miles and gave a lot of smiles and still walks and walks.
Once more I love you my dear mother,
    Sissy

Unimaginable pain, you help the reader understand what it feels like...10 definitely

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
