    WHAT IS LOVE ?

    WHAT IS LOVE?

Love is invisible tears in one’s eyes,

Love is unbearable pain in one’s heart,

Love is the indelible memories of a Sweetheart.

Love is the inexpressible pain when two hearts part.

Love is the song the bees seem to hum

Love is the answer to a problematic sum

Love is the distance covered in a race

Love is the molecule found in space.

Love is the sweetening substance in sugar,

Love is love when two hearts are together

Love is a strong binding force

Without love, its not love of-course.

Love is the atmosphere all around us,

Love is the breath of life inside us

Love is the measurement on a scale,

Love is pure air that we inhale.

Love is a ship that sails on the sea,

Love is a bird that sits on a tree

Love is the color of the golden sunset,

Love is the sweet memories one can’t forget.

Love is a novel read through one’s eyes

Love is the whisper of the heart in disguise

Love is the longing in one’s heart,

Love is a treasure, hard to part.

    Love is life’s electricity,

Without love, life is a dark city

Love is the feeling of cool breeze

Love is the waves that play with the sea.

Love is life, not with all positives,

Love is life with few negatives,

Love without negatives, would be love minus,

Love (positive + negative) is love in surplus.

Love is immeasurable in all aspects,

Love is impressible in all respects,

Love can never be a suspect,

True love is something, hard to reject.

Love is found in words and actions too,

Without one, the other would be blue

Without ‘O’ in love and ‘O’ in you,

Couldn’t spell out the words ‘Love You’

Love is just an imaginary dream

Like this poem so it seems,

    Written with an imaginary heart,

Of a poet’s love for this art……………This is Love !!!!

Love never whispers, it speaks out aloud,

    In letters bold and strong,

Love is a sense of everything right,

    When everything else is wrong.

Love can be hurting and damaging too,

If it’s not sincerely meant for you,

It could take the disguise of a soothing balm,

Yet all the while, it’s the cause of much harm.

It’s senseless and foolish to think of love,

When you know it’s unreachable and far above,

    Unless your heart reaches out,

To get this love without a doubt.

Man is blind he doesn’t see right,

He tries a ‘love stint’ from a terrific height.

Is he really blind or does he pretend to be,

It’s for you to find out and then believe.

A heart has volumes to speak forthright,

But when it looks up, it’s afraid of the height,

Will I stand or will I fall,

Can I open up and say it all??

O thunderous heart, why aren’t you bold?

Where is your courage? Where’s your stronghold?

Are you afraid of the height to fall?

Or are you afraid of love at all?

Be strong brave heart and do your best,

To reach out to love is now your test,

Hold fast when she passes by,

Or she’ll disappear in a twinkling of an eye.

Love’s here tomorrow may be gone,

The only memory will be her song

You’ll hear her whisper soft and low

You’ll hear her song wherever you go.

The night will be gone, then will come dawn,

You’ll wake up and find your love has flown,

Each passing day will bring back tears,

As night draw down, Love’s visions appear.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
