    When it Hurts to Breathe
    When you said goodbye I took a deep breath
    I felt like my soul was sentenced to death

    I cried and I sobbed, I could not eat or sleep
    I felt very used and also so cheap

    As time passes by, I get on with my life
    My heart seems to mend and out comes the knife

    The wound is still there and always will be
    But the pain is nearly gone and…
    It no longer hurts when I breathe
