    Poem Commentary

Dedicated to my loving Mom who lived with alzheimers for 10 long
    years.

    Where's Mom

    Where's the woman who
    gave me life
who married Dad and became his wife
    Where's the woman who
    taught me to care
    and learn of life
    and what is fair
    Where's the woman who's
    loving and forgiving
    the woman who taught
    us to work hard for
    a living
    The years have taken
    her away and left this
    stranger here today

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
