    Poem Commentary

I actually wrote this as lyrics to a song.  The third verse here is my chorus.  I am presently in a lyric writing workshop and I hope to be working with a guitarist to write a melody.

    With Every Letter

    I’m making love to you

With every letter that I write

    Although I can’t touch you

    You’re always in my sight

    As long as you’re away

    Babe, don’t worry ‘bout me

    It’s gonna be ok

I’ll be waiting ‘til you’re free

    I’m making love to you

With every stroke of my pen

    I’m making love to you

    Tonight I’ll do it again

    My days are like foreplay

    While thinking about you

    Pen and paper in mind

    Nighttime, where are you?

"My days are like foreplay While thinking about you" — this is one of the most poetic lines I have read in a long time.

Thank you. I'm a novice and appreciate your feedback.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
