Yesterday

Yesterday
You were here with me
I could see you
Touch you
Know you were there.

Yesterday
We smiled
laughed
and cried
As we recalled the good times we shared.

YESTERDAY
I thought about
Telling you
But I couldn't
Find the words.

YESTERDAY
You were here
I could look into your eyes
I could hear your voice
I could TALK to you but I didn't
say the important words

Yesterday
I made the
worst mistake of my life.
I kept silent
And didn't even say goodbye.

Yesterday
Brought pain
Suffering
Heartbreak
Devastation
When I heard
you
were

gone.

Today
I mourn
I cry
I scream
WHY
Did you have to leave?

Today
I can't say anything
I can't remember
I can't...
I just can't.

Today
All I can see is your gentle face
And I can't
let you go.

Today
I want to just wake up
And see you smiling back at me.

Today
I want to tell you
Everything
I needed to say.

Today
My heart is tearing
As part of it has been taken
Away.

Today
I miss you more than ever
And I can't do anything about it.

it was
yesterday.

it was

just

yesterday.

I'm sorry about your sorrow. Beautiful writing though, very touching. I love how you spread it across the page. Good job and keep on writing!

Beautiful words and felt the sadness you felt. You catch the reader attention keep writting.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
