you can't save me

you can't save me

lost and insecure
a self loathing hate
insecurity in its worst form
starving for security.
wishing someone would save me
im lying on the ground
a knife gripped in my left hand
a gun in the right
a letter which i write tonight:
dear mom and dad,
a part of me cant go on
ive given up and i apologize
i love you both with all my heart
im sorry for all that i have done
and all I couldnt do.
Ive given up on myself; I didnt know what else to do.
Forgive me please, I thought it was best.
Tell everyone I love them.
Now let me be at rest.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
