Poem Commentary

i wrote this because i was feeling some animosity towards my best friend...but i just wanted her to know that no matter how mad i was or whether she was talking to me or not that she would always be my best friend...

You will always be...

this goes out to a girl who is my friend,

well she was my friend till she dropped me fa his ass,

before he came around things was just fine,

but then they started talking somewhere along the line,

he was supposed ta be my brotha, an she was my best friend,

and neither one of dem told me, wat kinda bullshit is that?

like i could give a damn if yuu wanna see each other,

i'm ya best friend, not ya fuckin father,

but thats not the point i wanna get at,

i usally don't cuss in my rhymes, but i'm just that mad

i tried to tell yuu what kinda dude he was,

at first yuu was like iight, maybe we should break up,

then yuu found out that he was seein other people,

like wat the fuck is this? yuu supposed to be the only female,

then he left yuu, for that other girl,

he left yuu crushed, he was your world...

i was there for yuu, through all this bullshit

an then yuu dropped my ass, right after yuu got back wit him

like i don't understand, i was always here for yuu

but yuu let me go, like i didn't mean anything to yuu

but its ok, even though yuu mad...

i'm gon be here for yuu...

because to me, yuur still my best friend...

funny I had this same experience in high school...It wasn't exactly the same as there was never a leaving me...and the dude was never my friend...but it was like they confided in me and I let them know what kind of person they were dealing with...and they didn't listen...then wanted to cry on shoulders when it was all said and done...but I was still there.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
