A Glimpse of Reality

Sometimes I wish I couldn't see-
then I couldn't glance at all the crap around me.
If I had no ears
or if I couldn't hear
on my cheeks there'd be no tears.
If I had no mouth, or if I couldn't talk
I could never hurt and never mock
those I hold dear.
If I had no life,
If I wasn't here
then I would never have to think of my fears.
If I was alone, if I was the only one
then would others have much more fun?
Would they even notice that I was gone-
Would they miss me for long?
Do I care? I think not-
For now, in my own web I am caught.
