    Life Lesson

    The more I look
    the more I see
    all the pain that
    has surrounded me.
    The more I cry
    the more I become aware
that no matter what I do
    life won't be fair.
    The more I'm silent
the more I hold it in
    I find I can't run run away
    and not drown in sin.
    The more I learn
    the more I find
    that life isn't always good
    and life isn't always kind.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
